Instagram Takeover Q&A @Theforceofstorms

Yet again, it's time for the #movellastakeover with @Theforceofstorms

Learn more about our upcoming Instagram takeover by one of our new social media ambassadors...

This time we do it a bit differently by giving you all the opportunity to meet our Instagram guest blogger and Movellian social media ambassador, The Force of Storms who is ready to take over #movellasofficial from Tuesday, August 2nd through August 6th.

Here's a little Q&A before the takeover starts so you can all get to know her better.

The force of storms

A little town in Devon, England, that will probably end up in a storybook someday.

Still in school. Trying to earn money to buy books though internet surveys, even though that’s not really an occupation.

Writing. Music. Photography. Books. Art. That’s my entire life in five things.

Tell us a bit about yourself:

I like words, I like them a lot. I write because I overthink things and need a creative outlet to help arrange my thoughts. I tend to hope for the best and expect the worst. I find it impossible to be only a casual fan of things: it’s got to be either an obsession or something I barely care about. I talk about the worlds I want to live in and the characters I wish I could meet.

How long have you been on Movellas?

I’ve had accounts that I’ve created and deleted over the past two or three years. However, this account will be turning one next week!

Why are you on Movellas?

I’m on Movellas because it’s the only writing website I’ve found that works for me.

What are your three favourite books/authors of all time and why?

This question haunts me. My favourite books are:

  • The Death House by Sarah Pinborough. Although there is an inevitable conclusion, the story still captures the complexity of the lives, fears, and small pockets of happiness shared between those involved.
  • The Bunker Diary by Kevin Brooks. The book wasn’t afraid to take chances and be controversial. It blew my mind all the way through and then blew my whole heart to pieces at the end.
  • Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell. I didn’t fall in love with this book because of the romance, but I loved it bcause it was peaceful and wild and sad and beautiful all at the same time.

What genre do you prefer reading?

My preference between genres is practically non-existent. I enjoy stories that manage to twist and merge different genres together.

Do you write novels/books yourself?

I do! There’s loads of word documents with only the first chapter written and an equal amount of ones that are halfway through but something made me stop writing them. I’m a few chapters away from completing Beauty in the Breakdown which will make it my first finished novel.

Where do you get your inspiration from in writing?

Quotes from lyrics and poetry are my biggest inspirations when it comes to writing, whether it’s an eighties ballad about the chemistry between two people or a poem that hardly anyone knows about a place that is equally unknown.

What is your best writing tip?

Write the story you want to write, not the one that other people want to read.
