I'm a writer of mostly the romantic persuasion, or the comedy, but every now and then I'll dip into horror or tradgedy, but not often because my goal is to keep spirits up and get a smile on your face. That is my goal as a writer.

Also, just to avoid confusion, I write mostly one-shots (one chapter stories). This means they are open-ended stories and will not be continued after the one (usually very LONG) chapter. Multi-chapter stories are indicated by '[#/#]' in the resume, but they don't happen often!

Everyone wavers in their writing from time to time. Sometimes it takes a while to start up again, and sometimes you decide to drop your story like a hot potato.

This topic is an attempt to keep everyone motivated to write, so more stories will get completed (and submitted to this group)!

    What keeps you motivated?
For me, if I get stuck with my writing, I always find it helpful to go and talk to friends or family, or to read a newspaper (no fictional stuff!) to get me in the mood for writing again!

This is a great story! You've got a really good writing style, there's no doubt about that. Keep it up and keep developing this story!! :D

    mumbled "PUBLISHED!"

Well, I'm proud to say that I've had my first short story published! :)
I entered a competition called the Anne Pierson Award 2012, and I short-listed (sadly I didn't win it) so they published my work in an anthology alongside the other 15 short-listed entries :)
Sadly you can't buy the anthology from Amazon any more (because I was gonna force you all to buy it) but I totally encourage anyone from Cumbria, England to enter the 2013 competition because it is well worth it and you get a lot of good critisism and feed-back! :)
